Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the maintenance team at the world’s high-grade uranium mine, located at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan. You will report to the surface maintenance supervisor and work on surface.
In this role, you will:
- Perform predicitive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production
- Complete repairs and overhauls on equipment and piping systems on a surface and perform basic welding as required Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs
Required:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson industrial mechanic ticket
- Minimum five years of industrial work experience
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Team player with good communication skills
- Excellent safety record
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking using SAP
- Experience with maintaining a shaft double drum hoist
- A machinist ticket would be an asset

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
