Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive metallurgical analyses, including microstructural analysis, failure analysis, and corrosion testing of metals and alloys
- Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, such as sample preparation equipment, microscopes (optical and electron), hardness testers, and other analytical instruments
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and execute experiments, including sample preparation, testing, and data analysis
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all laboratory activities
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support material selection, process improvement, and product development initiatives
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and best practices in the field of metallurgy and materials science
Qualifications / Requirements
- Previous experience in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in a metallurgical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of metallurgical testing and analysis techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance standards
- Proficient in the use of LIMS, analytical software, and tools for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects and potentially in different areas beyond metallurgy, depending on project needs.
