Project Accountant

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
Finance Business Partner supporting a major contributor project(s) or a portfolio of projects:
- Preparation of Monthly Project Reporting and Analysis on Revenue, Gross Margin, Cash Flow & Bookings / Backlog.
- Ensure Accounts Receivable and Work in Progress are current and follow up on any overdue or outstanding amounts.
- Assist with preparation of Project Forecasts, Budgets and Estimates.
- Prepare monthly Revenue Recognition and Accrual entries, in line with IFRS 15.
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations / Entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate project accounting, in compliance with IFRS standards and internal company policies, including support required in preparation of accounting position papers.
- Review and process Project Changes/Reforecasts and ensure they are timely and accurately reflected in the Oracle System.
- Ensure all month end entries / reporting deadlines set out by Business Unit or Corporate are met.
- Preparation of quarterly estimates, financial forecasts, annual budgets and long-range plans of the major contributor project (s).
- Maintain good communication with relevant Project Stakeholders including Project Controls, Procurement, Project Management and Finance / Shared Services.
- Ensure Letters of credit and other guarantees are in place and meet contractual obligations.
- Perform Ad-hoc reporting requests and assist in Adhoc projects, as required.
- Contribute to team Process Improvement initiatives including but not limited to Procurement, Internal trade and Data automation for efficiency in processes within project accounting team.

The ideal candidate:
- University degree in Accounting / Commerce / Business Administration.
- 5+ Years of Financial / Accounting work experience preferably in core project accounting.
- Experience of working in a Corporate Finance environment.
- CPA or in progress of pursuing CPA designation.
- Prior external audit experience with a reputed accounting firm preferred.
- Prior hands-on experience of working on Oracle EBS, Business Object and Adaptive Insight will be preferred.
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Query and Power Pivot will be an asset.
- Systems: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and presentational skills (both written and verbal).
