Reporting to the RFBR SGR Project Director, the Project Manager has overall accountability for the progression of planning and readiness activities related to Pickering RFBR’ Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) and key equipment Manufacturing Scopes.
This position provides leadership and alignment for all activities related to RSG and other key equipment manufacturing and associated deliveries. This position is the primary point of contact to ensure a consistent, deliberate, and clear methodology is used for key decisions, and advancement of deliverables the scope of work.
What You'll Do Here
- Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-JV and client-facing interactions. Create the context that promotes this and other values that are required to make the project successful
- Ensure the delivery of all the equipment in accordance with safety standards, on time and on budget and compliant with the Technical Requirements
- Provide regular and accurate progress updates to the Project Director, CanAtom Project Controls and the client for reporting purposes
- Boiler Manufacturer’s cost & schedule adherence and management of schedule & cost threats and opportunities, including timely escalation
- Early identification of any threats to Project schedule or cost profile, or quality issues
- Constantly monitor for schedule and cost reduction opportunities across his scope of works. In particular, the Project Manager should be continuously looking for more efficient methods to perform the Work
- Work collaboratively with the SGR stakeholders to ensure the Project requirements are met and represents the most efficient methods to deliver the equipment
- Driving compensatory actions related to adverse quality trends during fabrication
- As a member of the SGR Project Leadership Team, participate in regular meetings and provides advice and support to the other members
- Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register. Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for the identification, mitigation and management of related risk items for his/her scopes
- Interfacing with the Client on requests for Manufacturer’s contract changes in close collaboration with the procurement team
- Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
- Coordination of delivery of the procured eauipment to site and SPOC for the relationship with the Construction Team
- Ensuring as-built details are fully understood and available to the team performing prep and install
- Ensure support and technical assistance are deployed to the Construction team during the construction phase on Site
- Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to SGR team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy. Endeavor the feedback to be in person wherever possible
What You Bring To The Team
- 5 - 10 years of related experience, ideally in a nuclear environment
- Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post-Secondary Degree
- Strong Team Collaboration Skills
- Detail Oriented Approach, Focused on Quality
- Strong Verbal & Written Communication Skills
- Agility & Flexibility in a Dynamic Environment
- Innovative Problem-Solving Skills
- EPC Contractor Experience
- Construction Field Experience in nuclear environment
- Mega-project or Portfolio Projects Experience in nuclear environment
- Demonstrated Project Management Knowledge (e.g. via PMI Certification)
- Consensus Building Experience
- Claims Avoidance and/or Claims Negotiation Experience
- Leadership Experience in High-Performing Teams
- Primavera P6 Knowledge
