Director RFR Engineering

The RFR Engineering Director will lead and oversee all engineering activities for the Darlington Refurbishment Project. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring the successful execution of the project, and meeting all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Engineering Director will play a crucial role in resource management, training and mentorship, project objectives and KPIs, staff performance, and project execution.

Your role within the team:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of engineering solutions for the Darlington RFR Project, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities within the overall project framework.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including CSA N285.0.
- Develop and maintain engineering schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of project milestones.
- Maintain a resource transition plan for resources on Darlington RFR to transition to the Pickering RFBR project.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of engineering work to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering activities, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering team.

The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering management, preferably within the nuclear or power generation industry.
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and standards, including experience with CSA N285.0.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with refurbishment or major capital projects in the nuclear industry.
- Familiarity with OPG's processes and standards.
