How you will make contributions that matter:
As a Labour Relations Specialist, you will:
Grievance Management: Investigate and resolve grievances, recommend outcomes, document findings, and follow up.
Agreement Administration: Ensure fair enforcement of the collective agreement and assist in preparation for collective bargaining.
Discipline Advisement: Investigate allegations related to misconduct, advise on disciplinary actions, and document progressive discipline processes.
Labour Relations: Build trust and communication between management, supervisors, and the Union while proactively addressing potential grievances.
Unionized Workforce Planning & Onboarding: Support recruitment, hiring compliance, onboarding, probation reviews, and workforce planning.
Layoff & Recall Management: Manage layoff processes, conduct "bump" interviews, maintain records, and assess recall eligibility.
Attendance Management: Administer attendance programs, prepare reports, facilitate meetings, and track metrics.
SAP Management: Handle employee updates, reporting, shift assignments, and internal status changes.
Disability Management: Assist with accommodations, return-to-work planning, and liaise with disability team.
General Administration: Maintain records, support communications, and provide supervisor training and development.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
• University degree and/or Human Resources Management Diploma complemented by Industrial Relations experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in labour relations procedures in an industrial/manufacturing environment with 5+ years providing HR Generalist support.
• Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation and BWXT Canada policies and procedure.
• In-depth knowledge of collective agreement interpretation and administration.
• Collective barganning preparation and experience is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar HRIS software is preferred.
The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[82,000]] and $[[124,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
