Candu Energy Inc. is looking to hire a Engineering and Nuclear Safety Analysis Technical Managers for a full-time regular position. This role, in support of Cernavoda 3 and 4 New Build and Monark development program, is responsible for delivering the internal engineering work and reports to the Buenos Aires’ office Engineering Director.
Location - Mississauga, ON
This position requires a short-term relocation to our Argentina office.
Your role within the team:
- Responsible for developing and implementing Engineering Plan for the tasks assigned.
- Technical integration and interface control both within a project across the one or several related disciplines involved.
- Selection and review for suitability of application the design methods, materials, parts, equipment, and processes that are essential to the safety and performance of structures, systems and components.
- Ensures qualified and appropriate staff are working on the project and are assigned work within their experience and skills.
- Provides coaching and performance feedback to the to team members.
- Collaborate with Functional Manager for recruitment of new staff and training of existing staff.
- Provides guidance, technical insights, supervision and feedback to the team members.
- Oversight of technical deliverables budget, schedule and quality.
- Ensures that the final deliverables meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes, regulations and standards.
- Reviews and approve key technical documentation for the project, or phase of the project.
- Identifying and proposing improvements in the areas of the project – both proactively and in response to customer requirements.
- Liaise with external/internal client engineering organization at the behest of the Engineering Director regarding the technical matters.

The ideal candidate:
- University degree in an applicable field of engineering or science.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, qualified to seal engineering documents in a relevant field of engineering, or eligible to obtain for such registration within 6 months of hiring for the Engineering Technical Manager.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing and/or performing safety and licensing work.
- At least 5 years of applicable engineering experience including applicable experience prior to engineering management roles.
- Sound knowledge of multiple engineering fields and of nuclear technologies.
- Demonstrated skills in the management of several complex technical projects, leadership, and project management of a highly technical group.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent client focus and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen – the ability to think, plan and negotiate strategically with a strong commercial orientation and good understanding of financial measurements.

Additional, preferred qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance.
- Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
- Experience in managing sub consultants and work sharing with other offices within a company.
