JOB PURPOSE:
The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for the document control process. This role requires the submittal of procedures, drawings and test plans to the customer for review and approval, controlling revision levels of documents issued to the shop floor for manufacturing and the maintenance of BWXT form revisions. Requirements include having excellent relationship and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, being highly organized with a focus on detail and being very proficient using Word, Excel and Access.
JOB STRUCTURE & COMMUNICATIONS:
The Document Control Coordinator reports to the Engineering Manager and has no direct reports. This role requires regular interaction with Engineering, Production Control, and Program Management.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Process new orders and change orders.
- Submit documents such as procedures and drawings to customers for review and approval.
- Communicate with the customer’s Document Control to coordination documentation approval.
- Process and track all Supplier documents for review and approval.
- Ensure that controlled copies of the latest approved documents and drawings are given to the appropriate personnel and recall previous versions of all documents.
- Input document data into the Software Schedule and ensure that all information is accurate and up to date.
- Release all workorders to the shop floor for production.
- Prepare cover sheets for all documents being submitted to the Customer.
- Process and submit Quality Verification documentation to the Customer.
Administration:
- Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required
- Report any personal workplace injuries to direct supervisor immediately.
- Report safety issues to direct supervisor as soon as possible.
- Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures and participate in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.
- Sets a positive example by maintaining a respectful attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary education in Administration, Business or related program.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in document control in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in the aerospace, defense or nuclear industry an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Access abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively verbally and in writing
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively, prioritize and meet set deadlines
- Able to work in a fast paced environment

The hourly rate for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $48,000 and $68,000 per hour. The rate offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
