AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We have been providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry in Canada and around the world for more than 60 years. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.
Your role within the team:
- Plan and undertake all required process system engineering design and licensing activities for the active projects. Activities will vary depending on project scope but will include such things as thermal-hydraulic evaluations, consideration of site hydrological characteristics in water sourcing and provision design, selection and/or design of early site layout process systems and equipment, process modelling and optimization, coordination of design with other interfacing disciplines.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, particularly for processes related to early site development, ensuring timely preparation of deliverables for each stage, such as requirements elicitation and management, development of composite 3D models with other disciplines, capturing analysis results, develop technical specifications, and contribute to project and asset information definition and capture.
- Prepare engineering design calculations, design documents, 3D models, and engineering packages as required for each project scope.
- Select and apply the appropriate process design and modelling tools for as required, including running simulations using simulation software.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits, licensing, and compliance with approved plans, as applicable.
- Prepare all required licensing submissions related to the process engineering work performed.
- Ensure effective and interactive working with other discipline team members, sharing data in a timely coordinated manner and preventing “siloed” working.
- Perform site walkdowns if required by the project, for example in support of new design requirements definition, solutions ideation, or performing design modifications.
- Provide technical instructions to supporting junior engineers and others to enable effective performance of their assigned activities.
- Review and comment on the work performed by others to ensure suitable scope, accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation.
- Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with Company QA programs and manuals, as well as the specific requirements of the customer and project scope.
- Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design activities.
- Support business development in the team through delivering quality on-time work, cultivating valued contacts with customer counterparts through technical excellence, and supporting the preparation of engineering estimates and technical write-ups for proposals.
Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer?
