The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing material requirements, ensuring inventory levels align with production/maintenance/etc needs, and coordinating with supplier to optimize supply chain efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to forecast demand, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholder.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the material availability for scheduled work and develop material requirements schedule which determines what to order, how much to order and when to order materials to support planning activities
- Derive an accurate view of material requirements needed to support consumer needs by balancing orders, demand, and material inventory data
- Analyze material inventory levels considering supply lead time, vendor constraints and transportation constraints
- Identify and implement process improvements in material planning and supply chain management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, maintenance and warehouse to improve supply chain efficiency
- Address and resolve material shortages, delays, and any disruptions in the supply chain
Required:
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree
- Minimum of three to five years of related experience in an industrial setting
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Experience with a computer maintenance management system such as SAP
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Recommended:
- APICS, SCMP designation is preferred
- Knowledge in inventory planning processes
