To help achieve our business plans, Bruce Power currently has an opportunity for an Engineer / Engineering Trainee within our Electrical Design Engineering Section.
This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
Members of the Electrical Design Section as responsible for plant and project engineering design as it relates to the discipline of electrical engineering. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design planning, design change packages, calculations, commissioning documentation, conducting field walkdowns, troubleshooting, plant support, and attending factory acceptance testing.
Specific Accountabilities:
Design of electrical systems including switchyards, power transformers, generation equipment, distribution equipment, protection and control equipment, power conversion/battery equipment
Specify technical and design requirements. Conduct design work from engineering changes from conceptual design through to execution and closeout
Specify requirement for commissioning, factory acceptance testing, installation, qualification testing etc.
Develop engineering project schedules and budgetary estimates
Lead or participate in multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems
Lead engineering service providers to deliver scopes of work such as projects and engineering deliverables

Technical Focus:
Education and Experience:
Engineer (Occupation Code 670325)
Completion of a 4-year University degree. Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
An Ontario Professional Engineering designation is required (P.Eng.).
A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years’ experience is considered necessary.
Engineering Trainee (Occupation Code 670207)
Completion of a 4-year University degree. Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
Working towards a valid Professional Engineers of Ontario certification.
A period of over 2 years and up to and including 4 years experience is considered necessary.
