Senior Buyer

Location – Mississauga, ON
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Senior Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for various projects and business units.
Your role within the team:
- Create and Issue complex procurement packages, including those with high level QA standards.
- Conduct supplier negotiations and site visits as applicable.
- Create and Issue Change Orders.
- Interface with Key PO stakeholders including: Engineering, Project Manager, Project Controls, Procurement QA and Document Control.
- Resolve PO related issues as applicable.
- For smaller projects, where no Procurement Lead is dedicated, mentor Buyers as needed.
- Interface with the Client for Review and Approval of Procurement packages.

The ideal candidate:
- Post-Secondary Education preferred.
- SCMP certification or enrolment in SCMP programs is desirable.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Buying complex Procurement packages or equivalent.
- Experience in supplier negotiations.
- Experience in supplier sourcing, evaluations and performance.
- Experience in Quality program standards and processes related to supply chain(All levels).
- Knowledge of Contract Law and competitive bidding best practices.
- Knowledge in Manufacturing, experience at supplier facilities.
- Knowledge of Complex PO structure, contract terms and conditions.
- Understanding of the financial system, invoicing/milestone payments, Levels of Authority, Ethics/Compliance/Integrity Controls, HSE Requirements/Complex Service contracts including Construction contracts and union trades.
- Supervisory responsibilities(if applicable):
- Required to Mentor Junior Buyers and Procurement Administrators.
- Lead procurement activities as required.
- Other aspects(if applicable):
- May be required to travel or work at Project sites.
