Senior Construction consultant

Your role within the team:
- Act as subject matter expert on construction.
- Review all essential Contract documents and project specific plans and monitor Contractor compliance to these documents.
- Participate in the pre-construction meeting and review of the project specific execution plan.
- Verify construction is built as per ‘released for construction’ drawings and Client specifications, using approved materials only.
- Verify construction activities comply to Contractor’s QA/QC plan and executed in accordance to project specific plans.
- Verify Contractor safety plans, and performance and report any deviations from Contractor’s Health & Safety Plan or violations of OHSA regulations.
- Verify all HSE reported incidents and provide SME insight during incident reviews.
- Monitor environmental performance and report any violations/deviations from the Contractor’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP) or environmental regulations.
- Identify non-conformances and provide recommendations and support to Client on issuing any formal NCR’s to Contractor.
- Maintain a deficiency list, provide updates to Client and track corrective actions by Contractor.
- Monitor Contractor’s receipt of materials and verify the storage and handling as per the approved Project Execution Plan.
- Review the ITP and coordinate scheduled tasks with the Contractor to be present for witness and hold point sign-offs.
- Review and provide input for Change Order approvals and make recommendations on construction progress in support of milestone payments.
- Review Contractor turnover documents and ensure Contractor has captured all necessary markups on the As-builts.
- Provide input to lessons learned and Contractor performance evaluations.
- Participate in construction workshops as required.

The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 35 years of experience in Electrical Utilities Construction of Transmission lines, Distribution grid or/and High voltage Stations projects.
- Red Seal Certification for Powerline Technician, Journeyman Power Cableperson, Substation Electrician, or equivalent is required.
- Past Inspection or Supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Regulations and ability to interpret Design drawings and Standards.
- Must have valid class G driver’s license.
- Proficient with computers and familiar with MS Office Suite.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons of the year and flexible on working hours (nights/weekends).
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete deliverables on time · Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude and self-accountable.
- Must be bondable
