We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated candidates with good communication and people skills, and with a proven background in managing a program related to an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems (UAS) acquisition, sustainment, and/or operational service.
We are on the hunt for a Program Manager – Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), at our Richmond, BC office. Working together with our experienced contracts, program, and engineering staff, and many others, the PM-UAS will help lead delivery of a major UAS program, and support other initiatives as needed, as part of the broader Geointelligence Engineering team spanning across Canada.
As the Program Manager – Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS), you will be a key member of an experienced team responsible for the delivery and support of UAS capabilities to the customer. You will be working with classified information and with sensitive systems and be expected to complete all tasks and responsibilities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity. You must have the demonstrated ability to manage programs that deliver highly complex solutions to a challenging customer, to successfully achieve mission objectives.
Responsibilities:
- As a key member of the programmatic team, focus, organize and deliver program objectives.
- Prepare related programmatic documentation, including Project Management Plans and Statements of Work.
- Maintain detailed program schedules, tracking program progress.
- Hold frequent and regular assessment of costs-to-date and estimates-to-complete and develops workaround plans, as required, to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
- Ensure staffing levels and competencies match program needs. This may require negotiation with line managers and other programs for conflicting resource requirements, which should always be done with the Company overall interests in mind.
- Maintain program risk register(s).
- Attend and lead formal reviews.
- Develop relationships with subcontractor(s).
- Oversee the work of subcontract project managers to meet schedule, financial and programmatic goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including security, certification, and export licenses.
- Plan and control the work, maintaining MDA’s obligations within the SOW.
- Work with the customer and program team to control change over the programmatic & technical baselines.
- Track external and internal program issues and actions.
- Prepare internal and external monthly Project Progress and Status Reports.
- Maintain visibility of the program to senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings, as needed, on subjects of importance to the Company.
Requirements (experience/skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field from an accredited institution.
- Post-graduate degree or certification in management is an asset (e.g., MBA, PMP).
- 10 years experience of program / project management or leadership in managing an element of a complex program.
- Preferably, have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months within the last five (5) years performing project management services on UAS or Aeronautical projects having similar or greater complexity to the program scope of work for a NATO country, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Experience with projects/programs involving large, complex subcontracts.
- Experience with negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials, and the Canadian Controlled Goods program
- Excellent people and leadership skills.
Comments/Special Considerations:
The position is based in Richmond, BC and is expected to include some travel Successful candidate(s) must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance at a minimum level of Secret, and pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program.
This role has a salary range of $160,000 to $165,000
