Qualifications:
University degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
7+years of working experience in Electrical Engineering is considered an asset.
Must have P.Eng
Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
- Preferably has previous experience in nuclear, power generation, transmission and distribution, consulting engineering fields and renewables/sustainable industries.
- Experience in design of electrical facilities at low, medium and high voltage. This includes:
o Cable sizing and routing methods.
o Equipment sizing.
o Equipment arrangement.
o Electrical protection and control schematics.
o Installation details.
o Grounding.
o Wiring Diagrams.
o Strong knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA and IEEE standards.
- Experience in the analysis of power systems. This includes:
o Selection of protection devices, including circuit breakers and relays.
o Overcurrent protection coordination, short circuit, load flow and motor starting studies using ETAP.
o Protective relay programing.
- Specification of electrical equipment and technical evaluation of vendor offering.
- Understanding of commissioning requirements.
Working experience in the study, technical knowledge and design expertise of electrical distribution systems for the power industry will be considered a huge asset.
Working experience in a consulting environment will be considered an asset
