Overview
This position can be based out of any of our Ontario offices (Toronto, Vaughan, Ottawa, Sudbury) or elsewhere in Ontario with the flexibility to work remotely.
Your role
- Business Strategy Development: Engaging in business/relationship development and client liaison activities, in particular with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario; and assist the Manager in achieving the objectives of the Transportation Infrastructure Department.
- Project Management: Lead and manage multidisciplinary highways/transportation projects as Project Manager, or Technical Lead; deal directly with clients on project scope, schedule and budget; monitor project completion and contract compliance.
- Proposal Preparation: Lead/Participate in and oversee the preparation of proposals and fee estimates.
- Mentoring and Quality Control: Technical leadership to build and maintain team practices and development; support collaboration across disciplines; provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians to ensure technical adequacy of all work; review work and complete quality control procedures.
About you
- Extensive Experience: 20+ years of relative experience in roads and highways design and 10+ years of experience as a design lead, deputy project manager or project manager.
- Professional Credentials: Registered Professional Engineer with PEO; CAPM/PMP designation is an asset.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in office productivity, project accounting, project management and personnel management software; working knowledge of CAD and ORD/Civil3D software.
- Design Standards Knowledge: Working knowledge of application of TAC Geometric Design Guidelines, MTO highway design, OTM, OPSD, and other design standards as required.
- Soft Skills and Flexibility: Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; team management and delegation skills; willingness to travel for short-term assignments within Ontario/Canada.
