Overview
AtkinsRéalis is hiring an ORAT Technical Writer to join our growing team based in Toronto, Ontario. 
Your role
Substantive creation and editing of complex, high-profile deliverables 
Oversee technical writing output and consult with authors on developmental editing, content strategy, and information architecture
Manages feedback and guidance to the Technical Writing team ensuring consistency in team output
Provides oversight for the Technical Writing team in the alignment of all documentation, produced and edited
Manages project or document-specific style guides in accordance with the company's written style, tone, branding, and editorial standards
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
 - Proven experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), operational manuals, and procedural documentation.
 - Ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, user-friendly documents.
 - Ability to interpret high-level ConOps documents and develop detailed, actionable operational plans and SOPs.
 - Understanding of workflows, stakeholder roles, and interdependencies in airport environments.
 - Understanding of project timelines, milestones, and dependencies in the context of facility commissioning and operational readiness.
 - Familiarity with airport systems, terminal operations, airside/landside processes, and regulatory frameworks.
 - Experience working on ORAT programs or similar large-scale infrastructure transitions is a strong asset
 - Soft Skills:
- Analytical Thinking: To identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in operational plans.
 - Attention to Detail: Critical for ensuring accuracy and compliance in SOPs.
 - Adaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic, evolving environments typical of ORAT programs.
 - Collaboration: Works well with cross-functional teams.
 
 - Tools & Technical Proficiency:
- Documentation Tools: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
 - Diagramming Tools: Visio, Lucid chart, or similar for process mapping.
 - Project Tools: Familiarity with tools like MS Project, Smartsheet, or Primavera is a bonus.
