Role:
The AI&T EGSE - Flatsat Manager oversees the development of ground support electrical equipment (EGSE) and test stations related to the assembly, integration, and testing of a program, program element, or product, to meet customer and company expectations.
Within the Flatsat context, he or she is responsible for the design, development, and validation of EGSE enabling the functional and electrical verification of the entire Flatsat, ensuring complete representativeness of avionics, power, and communication interfaces.
A broader objective of this position is to support the growth of the company by undertaking tasks that may not have a direct impact on program management.
Specific tasks:
AI&T Manager – Common Core
- Act as an ambassador for your unit, actively communicating with internal stakeholders to plan and organize the resources needed to manage the development of the test stations required for the AI&T part of a program or product in its entirety.
- Escalate key issues and opportunities for improvement within your unit and propose solutions.
- Review requests from programs, product development management, and senior management.
- Negotiate, discuss, and reach agreement with the customer (internal or external) on technical and functional requirements and key program/product objectives, as well as the necessary funding, resources, and methods.
- Prepare detailed schedules to track daily product progress, conduct frequent and regular assessments of costs to date and estimates to be made, and develop alternative plans if necessary to meet cost and schedule targets.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities specific to Flatsat.
- Maintain control of Flatsat through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, recovery plan meetings, staff meetings, program meetings, etc. Provide technical and administrative advice, guidance, and decisions to the AI&T team.
- Maintain AI&T visibility at the customer level by regularly organizing technical meetings, management meetings, and progress meetings.
- Maintain program visibility with senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings, as appropriate, on topics of importance to the business.
Specific to Flatsat unit:
- As part of Flatsat, define the architecture of the EGSE enabling the implementation of electronic subsystems, signal routing, and the management of power supplies and communication interfaces (CAN, Spacewire, Ethernet, etc.).
- Oversee the development of software tools associated with the EGSE (command interface, supervision, test automation, configuration databases), in close collaboration with the software and systems engineering teams.
- Ensure the traceability and compliance of Flatsat EGSE resources with system requirements, and guarantee their availability for the integration, validation, and acceptance phases.
- Coordinate testing activities between different teams, ensuring that the Flatsat accurately replicates the satellite's electrical environment.
- Contribute to the standardization and pooling of EGSE modules within the company to promote reuse on other satellite programs.
- Collaborate with the EGSE department manager and EGSE development managers regarding resource requirements and monitoring the execution of work.
Work experience requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or embedded systems, or similar degree, bachelor's degree or higher
- 7 years of experience in program/project management or project engineering in a related technical field
- 7 years of experience in assembly, integration, or testing
- Understanding of test environments for satellite systems: Flatsat, AIT benches, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
- Experience in negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, and finance.
- Good interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
- Communication skills in French and English required. (Contact with clients outside Quebec and head office managers in Ontario).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
