Role:
We are seeking a Technical Trainer to support the skill development of our production teams. The job incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering clear, structured, and adapted training content to meet the operational needs of the of production departments. Working closely with various internal teams, the Technical Trainer will be responsible for anticipating changes, gathering information, and adapting the content of the technical training program to ensure our employees are equipped with a high level of understanding of our processes and able to apply their learning to their role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, update, and deliver technical training to technical and production employees;
- Analyze and anticipate learning needs and propose training curriculums;
- Lead training sessions, clearly and concisely explaining technical instructions, work procedures, quality standards, and health and safety procedures;
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to identify training needs;
- Adapt training content to meet operational, production, and compliance needs;
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop training and ensure continuity of internal knowledge and expertise;
- Document and develop training tools (presentations, guides, videos, practical sheets) and ensure their regular update;
- Supervise new employees during their integration and evaluate their technical skills (practical and theoretical);
- Prepare, administer, and grade exams and assignments to assess employee progress;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal technical training processes;
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- DEC or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Production Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Administration, or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or production environment, preferably in a unionized setting;
- Experience in a training role or a position involving the transfer of technical knowledge;
- Excellent ability to communicate and synthesize technical information;
- Able to engage and captive learners through presentation skills, strong interest in facilitation and organizational learning;
- Strong sense of organization skills and able to manage groups of learners;
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, to communicate with teams across other divisions of the company;
- Team player, strong listening skills, and ability to work in constant interaction with operational teams;
- Ability to anticipate training needs and respond quickly and autonomously;
- Good mastery of computer tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
- Good knowledge of learning management systems (LMS).
