Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Analyst to join the Mergers & Acquisitions team. The Analyst will be a key member of the team, helping define strategic growth areas and develop M&A investment opportunities to accelerate the achievement of the company’s strategic goals.
Reporting into the Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, the Analyst will support all aspects of the M&A process including market research, business case analyses, identification of potential acquisition opportunities, financial modeling, and transaction execution.
We are seeking an individual who is proactive, works well under pressure, and has a high-level of integrity and ownership.
Your role
As a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions team, you will report to the Director, Mergers & Acquisitions and be responsible for:
- Developing financial models and leading financial and other business case analyses to evaluate potential M&A opportunities.
- Conducting market and industry research including target identification, historical precedent transactions and public company comparable analysis.
- Collaborating and coordinating various cross-functional teams with due diligence efforts, including operations, financial, legal, and HR, and other functions.
- Communicating deal terms, rationale, and track progress to stakeholders and senior executives.
- Supporting sourcing activities including developing and maintaining relationships with potential acquisition targets and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the drafting and review of financial and commercial terms pertaining to legal transaction documentation.
- Evaluating market trends, regulatory developments and other factors relevant to M&A.
About you
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant specializations.
- 1 to 3 years of work experience in investment banking, corporate development, corporate strategy or consulting, or transaction advisory services.
- CFA, CPA or CA professional designation, an asset.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of financial modeling and analysis concepts with great attention to detail.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, relationship building and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong project management/organizational skills; able to effectively prioritize assignments and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment required.
- Mastery of analytical tools, such as Bloomberg, an asset.
- Superior working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
