About Us
McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
- Operating, inspecting, and maintaining the main cage and skip conveyance
- Preparing equipment and materials to be moved to and from the underground using slings and rigging
- Operating various equipment, such as JCB loader and skid steer loader
- Working alongside a diverse workforce (Cameco employees, contractors, and trade personnel)
- Fulfil all duties as detailed in the mines regulations mine shaft 1 operator training requirements
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
- Five years of applicable underground mining experience
- Must successfully pass the crane and rigging course
- Rotating day/night shift schedule
- Able to work at heights using fall arrest
- Willing to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to obtain the Saskatchewan certification for handling and transportation of explosives
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
