McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The Role
This role will report to the senior maintenance planner. You will work collaboratively within the Maintenance Planning department and identify and engage stakeholders that will be impacted by any maintenance or reliability activities. This is a dynamic and evolving role that will be critical to McArthur River achieving its full potential. The list below is not comprehensive but provides insight into the type of work to be undertaken.
In this role, you will:
- Develop short-term maintenance schedules that drive maintenance coordination and productivity, and medium to long-term maintenance forecasts that align with operational schedules.
- Facilitate planning and scheduling meetings to communicate these plans, track compliance and KPI’s and identify areas for improvement and adherence to the plans.
- Assist with the planning and scheduling of jobs to ensure maintenance planners can focus on long-term planning.
- Assist with the development of annual shutdown plans and schedule as it pertains to the tasks required of the maintenance group and contractors. Includes determining critical path, additional outside labour requirements and managing the daily schedule updates.
- Supervise the maintenance planners and contractor coordinating team in the absence of the senior planner, maintenance.
Required:
- journeyperson certificate or applied science technologist diploma or equivalent;
- 10 years of relevant experience in planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance work;
- equivalent combination of education and related experience in an industrial setting considered;
- excellent communication and coordination skills;
- SAP Enterprise Asset Management super user;
- project management experience, specifically for plant-wide or process systems shutdowns; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification, CMRP designation or equivalent;
- proficiency with SAP-PM;
- project management experience, or PMP certification;
- advanced knowledge of project scheduling tools;
- experience with scheduling software such Prometheus or Sigga Planning and Scheduling; and
- exposure to continuous improvement methodology, such as LEAN, and/or Six Sigma training.
