McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
As a key member of the process team, you will support the operational needs of McArthur River’s process circuits with a primary focus on underground grinding operations.
This is a 12-month temporary position.
In this role, you will:
- work closely with process operators, supervisors, and metallurgists to support process operations, process troubleshooting, and laboratory/field studies.
- complete data collection, analysis, and environmental reporting while following QA/QC guidelines.
- drive continuous improvement in the laboratory by streamlining data collection analysis.
- troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation as needed.
- work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
Required:
- technical diploma in chemistry, metallurgy or processing;
- three to five years of relevant analytical or metallurgical lab experience’;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- team player with excellent communication and organizational skills;
- willing to work underground in a mining environment; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- previous experience working in an industrial environment;
- previous experience operating an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS);
- Excel and/or AVEVA PI system knowledge; and
- LIMS and/or SAP experience.
