McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The Role
Reporting to the training coordinator, you will design, update and deliver training programs that meet operational needs. Using Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and applying adult learning principles, you will provide both classroom and practical instruction, including hands-on training with mobile equipment.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver safety-related training to site personnel using a variety of instructional methods, offering coaching and feedback, and assessing on the-job performance to identify training gaps.
- Support the training team as needed while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with various sites, departments and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and operational objectives are met.
- Support Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) through various administrative functions.
- Assist with the maintenance of Cameco’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required:
- diploma or certificate in a related field;
- minimum seven years of underground and surface equipment operation experience;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered;
- strong organizational, presentation and communication skills are essential;
- strong computer skills and knowledge of computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- certified operator of multiple types of equipment;
- mobile crane training experience;
- overhead crane training experience;
- valid concrete technology certification; and
- willing to work a 14-day rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- previous industrial work experience;
- de-icing experience;
- comprehensive understanding of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and the ability to apply its functions effectively;
- experience in SAP; and
- rim and tire training.
