Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The Role
As part of the Maintenance Planning team, you will report directly to the Senior Planner. You will collaborate closely with both Maintenance Planning and Maintenance Engineering, while also identifying and consulting stakeholders affected by shutdowns or maintenance activities. This position is dynamic and continually evolving, playing a vital role in Cigar Lake's pursuit of operational excellence. The following list is not exhaustive, but it offers an overview of the responsibilities associated with this role.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring annual shutdown maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and coordinated to deliver optimum outage duration and workforce utilization; this includes determining critical path and additional outside labour requirements.
- Facilitate shutdown coordination meetings to communicate these plans, track compliance and KPI’s and identify areas for improvement and adherence to the plans.
- Apply a strong working knowledge of maintenance planning best practices and of shutdown planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Focus on a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.
- Consistently improve plans and schedules that increase efficiencies of job execution and equipment reliability.
- Follow-up on completed work reports to ensure that equipment records, bills of materials, and standard job plans are updated and continuously improving for future use.
Required:
- journeyperson certificate, technologist diploma, or equivalent;
- 10 years of relevant experience in planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance work;
- equivalent combination of education and related experience in an industrial setting considered;
- excellent communication and coordination skills;
- experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification, CMRP designation, or equivalent;
- proficiency with SAP-PM;
- Project management experience and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
- advanced knowledge of project scheduling tools;
- experience with scheduling software such as Sigga Scheduler; and
- exposure to continuous improvement methodology, such as LEAN, and/or Six Sigma training.

The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
