Your Mission:
Operate the MDA GSI production systems and support Geomatics related activities at the Gatineau Satellite Station in Cantley, Quebec.
MDA’s Radar Production, adjacent to the Gatineau Satellite Station monitors receptions, SAR processing, and the delivery of SAR data for these multiple SAR sensors. This includes processing and quality assurance of SAR data, near-real-time delivery of products and value added image analysis, with a focus on Maritime Security using SAR for vessel detection.
Your Responsibilities:
Production:
- Monitoring incoming orders and outgoing deliveries, meeting client expectations for near-real time products and services.
- Process multi-mission SAR data and post-processing product validation.
- Trouble-shooting of various processing and delivery related issues.
- Communicate with Client Services Representatives (CSR) and clients for production and geomatics technical support and inquiries.
Geomatics:
- Perform Value Added Products (VAP) Services to support Near-real time (NRT) project related activities, these include vessel, oil and wind detection using customized GIS analysis tools.
- Interact directly with Team Lead on VAP procedures and methodologies.
- Image quality analysis of multi-mission SAR Imagery.
- Complete project related tasks, including the development and implementation of VAP related methodologies and procedures for NRT events.
Desired Qualifications:
- Two to three years related experience in GIS or Remote Sensing.
- Post-Secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience and education combined.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Windows environment.
- Experience in a GIS/EO tools an asset.
- Basic Remote Sensing and GIS COTS software an asset.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours – evenings and weekends are required.
Please note that this position is on-site in Cantley, QC, near Gatineau, and is not accessible by public transportation. In addition, the position is on an evening schedule from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., and every other weekend. Schedule will be fully explained during the interview process.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the SECRET status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
