McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The Role
Reporting to the general supervisor, mobile maintenance drills and development, you will lead a team of maintenance tradespeople to ensure assets are used effectively and sustainably. You will champion a strong safety culture by ensuring all work is planned and executed in compliance with safety standards,procedures, andregulatory requirements. You will uphold established processes and collaborate with your team to identify and implement improvements. In this role, you will coach, support, and develop a skilled group of problem solvers.
In this role, you will:
- Provide oversight for production drilling equipment, development equipment, underground concrete and grouting equipment.
- Oversee underground mobile equipment, including LHD Loaders (Scoops), scissor decks, skid steers, man carriers, and other related underground mining equipment.
- Provide oversight of the welding crew, supporting both surface and underground requirements.
- Collaborate with other discipline supervisors and departments to achieve shared operational goals.
- Play an active role in operational reliability and overall asset health.
- Participate in predictive, preventative, and condition-based maintenance activities.
Required:
- valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic certification or a technical diploma in a mechanical related discipline;
- 10 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent;
- three years minimum working in an underground mining environment;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills;
- ability to obtain a Saskatchewan supervisors certificate;
- first aid certificate; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- previous underground mobile equipment experience;
- previous working experience using SAP, 4-Hana, Sigga, Bentley as well as Microsoft’s suite of applications; and
- experience using mobile devices including Ipad’s or Iphone’s for work orders and other regular day to day business communications
