As QA/Calibration Technician: Responsible for ensuring Quality Controls are in place and performing Quality checks and testing products throughout the assembly process, in order for the items to be of high quality before shipment.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that products or services meet contractual requirements and follow the requirements described in the Quality Plans for Incoming inspection.
- Responsible for examining product and objective evidence supplied by the supplier to determine that it meets the requirements of the Purchase Order and the Quality Plan.
- Authorized to identify and hold nonconforming product for disposition by the QA Manager/Quality Management Representative.
- Responsible for performing inspection and tests according to the Quality Plans for in-process inspection to verify quality characteristics during in-process production.
- Responsible for ensuring that product undergoes the inspection and tests as outlined in the Quality Plan for that product including a review of previous inspection and test results to ensure that they meet requirements and that records have been completed.
- Maintain the non-conformance reports / components traceability databases.
- Maintain the non-conformance database system.
- Generate various certificates – Compliance, Tests, Calibration.
- Assign Doc Audit reviews.
- Assist in the planning of internal Quality audits and supplier audits.
- Participate in Order Review process.
- Organize the subcontracting of calibration test instruments.
- Perform calibration of test benches.
- Assist Engineering in shared processes as First Article Approval, ECN, validating software releases.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skill/Knowledge & Other Requirements:
- College diploma in the mechanical and/or technical discipline.
- 3 to 5 years in a similar position.
- Good mechanical/technical aptitude along with electrical knowledge.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, computer, pulse generator, specialized computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of CSA-N299 Quality Program.
- Knowledge of ISO Quality and HSE Programs.
- Ability to draft Procedures & Policies.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Sound knowledge of drafting practices (Mechanical & Electrical).
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Safety Code # C22.1.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Strong reading and writing skills.
- Exceptional planning ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment and Microsoft Office.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Sound organizational, problem solving, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Ability to make decisions and multi-task.
- Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent time management skills to plan and coordinate daily activities and ensure that projects are completed on time.
