About the Role
We are seeking a Manager - Artificial Intelligence (AI) to partner closely with the Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within MDA Space’s enterprise Technology Office. This role serves as the operational and enablement lead for the AI function, helping translate strategy into action, coordinating delivery, and supporting responsible, secure, and effective adoption of AI across the organization.
This individual will operate at the intersection of AI delivery, stakeholder enablement, policy stewardship, and day‑to‑day execution, ensuring that AI initiatives are well‑executed, monitored, catalogued, and aligned with organizational standards and values.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Project Management
- Build and own road‑maps, schedules, and budgets for enterprise AI initiatives
- Lead the internal AI squad (product testing, data set creation, tool‑chain design) and keep work focused on clear, short‑term goals
- Turn strategic direction into day‑to‑day tasks and monitor live AI tools for bugs or misuse, driving fixes fast.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
- Serve as the go‑to operational contact for any team that wants to use AI or ChatMDA
- Manage intake, triage, and response to AI requests across the organization
- Run lunch‑and‑learns, demos, and knowledge‑sharing sessions; co‑create AI training programs with Learning & Development
- Champion change‑management to accelerate safe adoption
Responsible AI & Data Security Stewardship
- Embed the company’s AI policies, governance, and ethical standards into every project.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, IT, Legal, Compliance, and HR to ensure privacy, data‑security, and proper use.
- Produce quick‑reference guides, FAQs, and training that make the rules easy to follow.
Knowledge Management & Communications
- Curate a living AI knowledge base consisting of FAQs, internal site pages, approved‑tool lists, best‑practice guides.
- Keep all AI documentation up‑to‑date, clear, and aligned with policy
- Deliver consistent messaging on AI capabilities, limits, and acceptable use
Use‑Case Discovery & Continuous Improvement
- Scan the business for new AI/automation opportunities
- Work with owners to evaluate feasibility, ROI, and readiness
- Run pilots, build data sets, and iterate solutions for higher impact
Vendor & Partner Coordination
- Liaise with external AI vendors, track deliverables, and verify they meet internal standards.
- Lead early‑stage demos and assessments to vet new partners
Documentation & Leadership Support
- Draft, review, and polish AI‑related proposals, briefs, FAQs, and presentations
- Prepare concise updates for senior leadership and governance boards
- Ensure transparent decision‑making and traceability of all AI work
Key Competencies:
- Experience supporting enterprise AI platforms (e.g., copilots, chatbots, internal AI assistants)
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery models
- Experience working in corporate shared services or centralized enablement functions
- Experience partnering with learning & development, cybersecurity, legal, and/or compliance teams
- Strong curiosity about responsible AI and practical, business‑driven AI use cases
Required Work Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in program management, operations, product enablement, or technology delivery roles
- Experience working with AI, data, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
- Deep understanding of GenAI, including high-impact use cases for enterprises, safety and security considerations, prompt engineering techniques, shortcomings, failure modes and mitigation strategies, and adoption and quality metrics
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, manage priorities, and deliver across multiple parallel initiatives
- Strong understanding of enterprise considerations such as data security, privacy, and governance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and training content
- Comfortable operating in environments with ambiguity, rapid change, and evolving technology

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at thesecret status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $130,000-165,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
