The Procurement Quality Assurance Representative (PQAR) reports to the Procurement Quality Manager. This role will be based at Candu Energy Inc. located in Mississauga, Ontario.
Your role
- Reviewing Procurement documentation (Engineering Requisition, Engineering documents, Bidders List, Request for Proposal, Purchase Order) to ensure quality requirements are correctly captured and communicated to suppliers.
- Review and Evaluate, Supplier proposal/bid then determine to meet the QA requirements including to conduct supplier audit, where required.
- Supplier Audit processes including planning, conduct, SCAR, audit report, audit checklist, Supplier Acceptance letter, and proper filing of all audit documentation.
- Review and become familiar with the pertinent technical and design requirements required to perform Quality Surveillance activities. Information such as but not restricted to: Technical Specifications; Applicable Codes and Standards; Drawings and related Engineering Documents; and Inspection and Test Plan.
- Performing Surveillance of Suppliers at their facilities to witness key inspections and review documentation packages per approved Inspection and Test Plan.
- Issue and follow up until closure the Supplier Corrective Action Requests based on the Quality Surveillance findings.
- Issuing Quality Surveillance Report and Quality Assurance Release.
- Liaising with the Engineering Representative (ER) during the life of the Purchase Order as needed on issues requiring technical interpretation and/or guidance in the performance of Quality Surveillance activities.
- Reporting and escalating, as needed, significant quality related issues on assigned Purchase Orders to Procurement QA Manager, Procurement, coordinating till resolution of the issue.
- Maintaining and monitoring the validity of qualification of all suppliers with open Purchase Orders.
About you
- Minimum University Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Prefer Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years practical working experience in the Nuclear Industry preferred. However, Experience in Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing Industry is also considered.
- Working knowledge of Quality Standards including ISO 9001:2015, CSA N285.0-2017, CSA N286-2012, CSA N299.1-2016, CSA B51 and ASME NCA 4000, 3800, 3300, B31.1, B31.3 codes.
- Moderate computing skills and functionality with standard Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage several audits, bids, and surveillances concurrently and works well under deadline pressures.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities are required to tackle a wide range of unique problems.
- Strong organizational skills, work planning skills, and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Maintain a valid driving license which is part of the roles requirement.
- @50% Travelling time and will subject to change at any time as role demand.
