Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
- Apply recognized Project Management methodology to ensure projects are managed effectively (e.g. managing scope, time, cost, performance, communication, people resources, contracts, materials, risks, and quality).
- Display strong leadership skills and be recognized by your peers and customers as a sound, practical and innovative project manager
- Learn and use available Project Management tools to effectively and efficiently monitor project performance
- Manage vendor deliverables to ensure materials/services received are at the right quality, on schedule and as per the contract budget
- Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Interact with a full range of skilled staff and lead on-site teams to design, fabricate & ship deliverables
- Provide timely and up-to-date reporting of projects, including risks, to management, project team, and customer(s)
- Support the development of new and innovative technical and project solutions and services to support customer needs
- Provide mentoring and direction to junior staff
- Retain historical information for cost and schedule impact analysis for future work
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals
What You Need to Succeed
- Completion of a 4-year university degree in business, science, or engineering
- 5-10 years of related project management experience demonstrating a clear understanding of project methodologies
- Experience managing design-build projects that include an in-house and vendor components
- Ability to assess and manage multiple vendors
- Excellent problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- High sense of personal accountability
- Ability to understand technical and business processes quickly and take initiative for continuous improvement
- Demonstrates strengths in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and change management
- SAP knowledge and experience an asset
- Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) will be considered an asset
- Experience in nuclear industry is a strong asset
- OPG and Bruce Power Security Clearance is an asset
- Accreditation as Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) is an asset
