What will you be doing?
Performing duties associated with labour, Janitorial, laundry, decontamination, and trades help.
Performing work associated with grounds maintenance, cleaning windows, removal of waste, decontamination of surfaces and equipment and laundry duties.
Performing and assisting with loading and unloading of vehicles, moving furniture and construction material, cleaning and burning rubbish and brush, mowing lawns, digging and excavating, landscaping, operating air drills and compressors, shovelling snow and spreading sand/gravel, cleaning windows and doors, erecting fences and carrying out demolition work.
Performing work associated with the decontamination/cleaning of equipment, surfaces and areas and operation of various equipment used in decontamination processes. To assist in the dressing and undressing personnel working in contaminated areas. In addition, performs work associated with the transfer and placement of radioactive waste.
Assisting in the training of other employees.
Performing work associated with inspecting, marking, recording, sorting, weighing, pressing and subsequent handling of CRL’s protective or specialized clothing. Also performs work associated with the operation of various laundry-related equipment and for the recording of issues and destroyed pieces of clothing.
Under the direction of a journeyman, lead hand or foreman to perform semi-skilled routine work as a helper/assistant to journeymen.
Keeping the journeymen supplied with tools, supplies and materials.
Assisting journeymen by holding tools or materials in place.
Performing a variety of work only when it does not require journeyman skills.
Assisting journeymen or drivers with delivering or removing material for the job site.
Performing routine maintenance work on shop machines such as oiling, greasing and cleaning.
To observe good housekeeping and safety practices and general plant regulations.

What we are looking for!
- Education
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid class 5 or higher driver's license.
- First Aid and/or CPR would be an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Computer skills are an asset, especially knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Oracle.
- Basic record-keeping skills for tracking grounds maintenance materials, waste disposal logs, and recycling.
- Load and unload vehicles.
- Carry out disposal duties and pick up waste – active and inactive.
- Move furniture, construction materials, and other heavy items.
- Provide support for digging, excavating, and shoring.
- Carry out landscaping functions as required.
- Clear brush, ditches, and fire breaks.
- Carry out road repair functions (potholes, crack sealing) as needed.
- Erect fencing and barricades.
- Clear snow; spread sand on icy roads, walkways, and entrances.
- Perform general site maintenance and grounds-keeping duties as directed, including operation of powered equipment both hand-held and ride on such as: Weed Trimmers, Industrial Leaf Blowers, Industrial Riding Grass Mowers, Tractor Powered Sickle Mower, Powered Soil Compactor, Chain Saws, Compressed Air Hammers and Scabblers, Industrial Self-Propelled Snow Blowers, Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs).
- Ability to operate other small heavy equipment is an asset.
- Operate diamond drilling equipment, including use on scaffolds or other difficult locations.
- Provide trades assistance/support on work projects.
- Initiative and judgement to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records.
- Must be punctual, dependable and safety minded.
- Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize and time management is required.
- Ability to understand detailed information is essential.
- Demonstrates responsibility and is accountable for accurately handling the details associated with one’s work.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and respond with initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to maintain successful working relations at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to work extended hours and off normal work shifts to support project needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Site Access Sevurity requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom.
