We are seeking a NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Field Service Technician to support the non destructive inspection of combustion and steam turbines and generators as well as balance of plant at our customers power plants. These will be on site field activities thru the application of inspection systems and procedures. Siemens Energy provides these procedure/techniques and tools that allow us to serve customer needs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants located domestically and internationally
- Prepare shipments and test equipment for service jobs
- Be the liaison between Siemens Energy and the Customer during the outages
- Stay current with technology and certifications – investigate new NDE technologies
- Assist in the development of NDE applications
- Become a leader in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specialty testing of large rotating equipment
What You Bring
- CGSB (Canadian General Standards Board) NDT Level II or III Certification or equivalent (or US equivalent) in VT (Visual and Borescope), MT (Magnaflux), PT (Penetrant), UT (Ultrasound) and ET (Eddy Current) methods required
- 5 or more years of NDE-related work experience required *Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
- Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine/generator components preferred
- Phased array UT, automated NDE or remote visual inspection experience a plus
- Travel (up to 75% annually for this position) to power stations to perform the field NDE activities required
- Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedule and priorities for multiple projects or assignments
- Must be self driven and resourceful to achieve goals and work independently or with a group
- Must be able to pass extended background check to be able to work unescorted at nuclear facilities

The Siemens Energy NDE team is considered a network organization, we work with our US counterparts to successfully perform specialty inspections for our customers. We work both in Canada, US and sometimes other countries.
