About Us
Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
Reporting to the batch plant services supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible to operate the batch plant and its associated equipment along with all the waste management equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Please note this is a six-month temporary position.
In this role, you will:
- Operate a variety of mobile equipment to support batching of concrete to service the needs of the mine.
- Demonstrate safety leadership and comply with company safety policies, complete daily operator care rounds and preventative maintenance on equipment, and ensure proper daily machine startup, operation, and shutdown procedures
- Assist in training and monitoring junior operators
Required:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience in an industrial environment, and/or experience in a concrete batch plant (batching, handling, delivering concrete)
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Experience with concrete, construction and heavy equipment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Willingness to perform manual labour as required
- Safety-oriented team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be proficient with using computers, including the Microsoft Office suite and handheld devices
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
- Mechanically inclined (knowledge of equipment and hand tools)
- Previous lead hand or supervisory experience
- ACI (American Concrete Institute) Certification
- Valid Class 1A driver’s license
- SAP experience
