Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. Utilities around the world rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. We have mining operations and projects in northern Saskatchewan, Kazakhstan, the United States and Australia. We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.
The Role
Reporting to the manager, network and communications, the network administrator will participate in supporting enterprise operations and provide technical support as an operations team member in Cameco’s business technology department.
This is a three-year temporary staff position.
In this role, you will:
- Gather and analyze requirements
- Plan tasks and dependencies
- Provide status reports and meet timelines to ensure a high level of success in delivering solutions
- Demonstrate your ability to integrate Cisco technologies with a passion to learn and research new network technologies
- Be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment and participate in collaborative initiatives, which foster the mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise
- Use strong planning, self-management, and analytical skills to identify the large and small impacts of network decisions and work under deadlines to provide the best support possible to Cameco’s IT initiatives
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field
- Up to 3 years of networking experience at an enterprise level
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Recommended:
- CCNA certificate
- Network firewall experience
- PLC / ICS environment experience

This is a hybrid work position, with a requirement to regularly be in office 40% of the working time. Additionally, a flexible schedule may be required to work additional overtime during maintenance shutdowns and systems upgrades.
