About Us
Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production
- Perform welding work on structures and equipment to stated specifications
- Troubleshoot structure and equipment failures and document and perform repairs
Required:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson welder ticket
- Five years of industrial experience in heavy industry, mill or mining environment
- B pressure SMAW F3/F4 (carbon steel) – 25mm (2”)
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Wear respiratory protection, such as powered air purifying respirator
- Team player with good communication skills
- Safety focused
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
- Previous underground maintenance experience
- Stainless steel pressure license GTAW/SNAW F6/F5 – 25mm (2”)
- SAP experience or equivalent maintenance program.
- Familiar with digital and online meetings, knowledge of working in Microsoft
