Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Reporting to the Sr. Engineer, Mine, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing a variety of duties in surface and underground work areas, as well as in the office. Your regular tasks will include completing surveys (both underground and on surface), monitoring development and production areas, concrete testing, and monitoring ventilation conditions. You will use your experience and expertise to create driving layouts and other mine drawings under direction of the design engineer, along with drawings to accompany regularly issued reports. Your attention to detail will be important in tasks such as accurately recording data and properly filing drawings and associated documents.
Required:
- Technical diploma in mining or related field
- Three to six years of relevant work experience
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Full proficiency in surveying with total station and GPS
- Experience in an underground mine environment
- Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
Recommended:
- Technologist certificate
- Drone Pilot Certification - Advanced Operations
- Experience with:
- Drafting with Vulcan/AutoCAD
- Uranium mining

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
