The Position
MDA is seeking a Business Analyst to be part of the Systems Engineering Team. This role focuses on optimizing the requirements management data base and associated subsystems in alignment with MDA Business Operations and other MDA sites. The Business Analyst analyzes complex business problems and propose solutions by pushing the tools set to their maximum capacity. The candidate needs to have a good understanding of the overall systems engineering development cycle. This candidate will lead continuous improvement effort related to MDA’s System Engineering tools.
The successful candidate must have a good ability to work independently and demonstrate high level of interest for innovation.
Tasks:
- Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective, meet engineering needs and business policies
- Ensure compliance to MDA policies and cohesion of practices
- Leverage utilization of core business systems and applications
- Responsible for keeping the Systems Engineering tools up to date by being informed of the latest technological developments
- Leads requirements gathering, technical design, testing, implementation, maintenance, system and technical support for Systems Engineering tools
- Follow the release cycles and implement on-time delivery of bug fixes, change requests and enhancements
- Participates in software upgrades and application of patches as required
- Implement new technologies by participating in the assessment of tools, software, and technological practices
- Design training programs, create documentation and user guides, and deliver training to other Team Members
- Facilitate and/or participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the development of Systems Engineering processes
- Collaborate with other teams, team members and stakeholders
- Provide general Systems Analysis and Design support for other Business Systems activities as required
Required Qualifications:
- College degree with relevant experience
- Experience administering Requirements database
- Complete understanding of Systems requirement development
- Critical Thinking, Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with integrations of IT/software systems.
- Experience with Requirement Management Tools (Windchill, DOORS ect)
- Good understanding and ability to apply various process and Design Patterns
- Experienced with frontend and backend development (Vue.js, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, CSS)
- Relational Database Experience (SQL Server) - understanding of Data Modeling Concepts
- Knowledge on Reporting and Business Intelligence platform: Power BI, IBM Cognos, Crystal reports, Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) are a plus or equivalent

The compensation range for this position is $72,000 - $98,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
