Alithya Engineering is growing to keep up with the digitalization demands from our clients. We are looking to add an I&C Engineer to our team of talented professionals in our Pickering, Ontario office.
As an I&C Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
General Responsibilities
- Provide innovative technical solutions to our clients
- Mentor junior staff in the execution of design activities
- Lead and support green and brown field projects
- Manage customer expectations and support design activities
Core I&C Engineering Focused Responsibilities
- Develop control logic, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical
- Design power distribution, single-line diagrams, cable block diagrams, motor and VFD schematics, low voltage and DC control and instrumentation wiring diagrams
- Select panel components and field instrumentation
- Supervise panel builders and electrical installers
- Prepare engineering deliverables including design, testing, commissioning, plant operations and maintenance manuals and documents
- Having experience with PLC and/or HMI programing
- Travel to customer sites to support panel and electrical installations as well as electrical and process integration
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, System Design Engineering or equivalent
· Minimum of 5 years engineering experience (Nuclear sector experience preferred)
· Professional Engineer (or in progress) by PEO
- Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes and standards
- Strong understanding of power distribution and low/medium voltage systems
- Experience in industrial control panel design including AC, DC, and instrumentation circuits
- Experience in panel manufacturing and electrical installations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in client-facing environment
- Results driven self-starter
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Ability to execute work to high safety and quality requirements
- Ability to respond rapidly to changing demands and transition between diverse projects and work teams
