Alithya Engineering is growing to keep up with the digitalization demands from our clients. We are looking for a Technical Director that will manage our operations at the Bruce Power site.
As a Technical Director, your responsibilities will include the following:
General Responsibilities
· Take responsibility for the performance and results of personnel on-site at Bruce Power and projects delivered to Bruce Power
· Solve complex technical and client-related matters
· Provide leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
· Collaborate with Alithya sales team to develop business opportunities and drive growth
· Contribute to the development and execution of department-level strategy
· Communicate with and influence executive leadership on strategic matters
· This position is approximately 60% technical and 40% management/leadership—ideal for those who want to stay hands-on while also influencing through leadership. This role will prepare you for a Director-level position while allowing you to maintain your technical roots.
Core Responsibilities
· Maintain a presence at Bruce Power site in Tiverton, ON at least 3 days per week
· Meet periodically with Bruce Power managers to discuss resources, projects, and overall strategy
· Act as first level escalation for Bruce Power client concerns and support Alithya management with recommendations for remediation
· Review/prepare engineering design documentation and engineering change packages related to digital systems
· Review/contribute to engineering proposals and estimates
· Coordinate security clearances and training qualifications of assigned staff
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, System Design Engineering, or equivalent
· Professional Engineer designation
- 10+ years of experience leading technical teams
- 15+ years of experience in the nuclear industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles at nuclear power plants
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in environments with high safety and quality standards
- Ability to respond rapidly to changing demands and transition between diverse projects and work teams
