Welding Student

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Uses metal core MIG or stick welding process.
- Learn to make U.T. welds.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, including reading and interpreting GS's, flowcharts, and spool drawings.
- Makes comparison of spool drawings to GA's to assure correctness.
- Capable of structural layout.
- Works with different types and sizes of materials.
- Positions fit pipe.
- Assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job with minimal supervision.
- Carries out directions and works on own initiative with a minimum level of supervision.
- Promotes and supports safety, production, and positive attitude.

The ideal candidate:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in Accredited skilled trades college program relevant to welding/fabricating.
- Other hands on experience a definite asset.
- Able to tack, use grinder and general shop hand tools.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work well within a team and learn from more senior staff.
- Clear communication skills a must.
