Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
As a General Supervisor, Utilities, and a certified first-class Power Engineer, you will hold overall accountability for the safe operation of the class 1 facility. We are looking for a collaborative team player who is effective at providing departmental and site direction, fostering a culture of operational excellence and upholding Cameco’s values. You will be looked upon to lead the utilities team through change and improvements that align with Cameco’s strategic goals.
In this role, you will:
- As a supervisor you will provide directions to team members to ensure safety and productivity for uninterrupted supply of utilities through the efficient operation of the acid, oxygen, steam, and backup power generation systems.
- As a professional engineer you are required to correspond with regulatory agencies, and other departments within Cameco business units. You will also be responsible for proper documentation of quality control jobs and provide budget estimates and forecasts as required.
- As a leader you will ensure safety is priority by leading safety meetings, complete job inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Cameco programs, as well as preparing reports and managing activities to completion within schedule and budget requirements.
Required:
- A valid Saskatchewan first-class Power Engineering Certificate.
- A minimum of 15 years of operational work experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- Knowledge of acid plant operation, boiler operations and steam distribution, and utilities (such as electrical backup power generation and plant air systems).
