Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
- Performing predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
- General welding work including but not limited to fabrication and field repairs.
- Proficient in SMAW and GMAW welding.
- Gouge metals using the air-arc gouging process.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, specifications, production layouts and technical drawings.
- Experienced with acetylene welding and cutting torch.
- Troubleshooting structure an equipment failures and documenting and performing repairs.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson welder ticket
- Demonstrated experience in hands on support of operations, technical and maintenance work teams
- Three to five years of industrial experience as a journeyperson
- Excellent safety record
- Work a rotation schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
- Working knowledge of SAP and basic computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills
- Valid Saskatchewan 2” XXS F3/F4 and F5/F6 welding certification
- CWB SMAW Welding Certification Class 5 driver’s license
