About Us
Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
The Role
Reporting to the general supervisor, mill, you will be responsible for planning, directing and administering all mill and effluent treatment activities at the Key Lake operation.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure mill environment, safety, and production goals are effectively and efficiently met. In addition, you will be responsible for providing directions to mill operations personnel, as well as planning and scheduling mill production on a monthly basis.
- Have cross-functional responsibility to support the technical services team while on site.
- Be responsible for preparing and presenting material, monitoring and controlling mill areas, overseeing adoption of technological advancement and change management initiatives, as well as continually improving work processes and practices.
- Ensure that all quality management standards, programs and procedures are followed and updated on a regular basis and that a high standard of environmental and safety compliance is achieved.
Required:
- Minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
- 10 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- previous working experience using SAP and process control systems.;
- valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- post-secondary diploma or certificate in an applicable field;
- Saskatchewan supervisory certificate; and
- First aid certificate.
