About Us
Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) units, kitchen appliances, walk in coolers, freezers, makeup air units, air handling units, furnaces, and split systems.
- Troubleshoot refrigeration components and systems to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Install new refrigeration and related equipment as required.
- Handle, recover and store refrigerants following safe handling requirements ozone depleting substances.
- Follow and comply with all corporate environmental, health, and safety policies and standards related to the trade.
- Must be able to work outside under adverse conditions.
- Must be comfortable with working at heights.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
- valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson refrigeration mechanic certification;
- five years of relevant ammonia-based refrigeration work experience in a commercial/industrial setting;
- halocarbon reclamation certificate;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- collaborative team player with effective computer and organizational skills;
- demonstrate safe work practices; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Assets:
- currently hold or have the ability to obtain a valid Saskatchewan refrigeration engineer certification;
- SAP, SIGGA, Bentley software experience;
- Saskatchewan General Gas license; and
- valid driver's license.
