Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
The Role
As a crucial leader of the mill operations leadership team, the General Supervisor, Mill will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and predictable operation of the mill. You will provide departmental and site direction, foster a culture of operational excellence, and uphold Cameco's values. As a supervisor you will provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to develop a high performing operations team. As part of the team, you will assist with the development of medium-term department strategies and occasionally act as site senior, attending daily and weekly meetings with your peer groups.
In this role, you will:
- Communicate and collaborate with other general supervisors and departments to ensure coordinated execution of all work activities.
- Maintain appropriate budget and workforce levels and ensure crew training and development is prioritized and remains complainant.
- Ensure work is planned, scheduled and coordinated so work is completed as efficiently as possible.
- Develop and mentor a team of individual leaders.
- Promote continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and overall performance.
- Inspect the workplace regularly to ensure expectations, standards and procedures are met.
Required:
- 10 years of progressive work experience in a process setting, or a combination of technical education and work experience;
- effective leadership skills;
- five years of experience supervising front-line staff;
- organized leader with strategic vision;
- work a rotation schedule and commute to site by aircraft; and
- proficient computer skills.
Recommended:
- uranium milling or processing experience.

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The Key Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
