Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role
Reporting to the sr. technologist, you will play a key role in supporting engineers and technologists within the team. Working as part of a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary design group, you will contribute to a variety of project activities.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare electrical and instrumentation design documents.
- Gather, review, and organize technical vendor information.
- Support the development of capital cost estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers and technologists on design deliverables.
- Assist with various stages of project planning and execution.
- Participate in on‑site visits to production facilities to support project design needs.
Required:
- diploma in electrical or instrumentation technology;
- minimum one year of related industry experience;
- eligible for future A.Sc.T or P.Tech designation;
- strong communication, planning and organizational skills;
- proven ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; and
- occasionally commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn new tools, standards, and processes;
- familiarity with ANSI/ISA‑5.1, CSA M421, and working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code;
- experience using the Elecdes Design Suite;
- experience with AutoDesk Vault and Autodesk Plant 3D, including smart P&IDs and 3D modelling; and
- background in the mining industry or other heavy industrial environments.
