Overview
Join a team at the forefront of engineering innovation in the nuclear sector. As the Construction Estimating Director for New Nuclear Projects, you will lead a multidisciplinary estimating team that supports major capital projects, new build initiatives, and complex nuclear plant modifications. Working within Candu Energy's project delivery organization, you will drive high‑quality estimating practices that enable successful project planning and execution across a range of engineering and construction activities.
Your Role
- Lead and mentor a high‑performing Construction Estimating team to support major nuclear projects.
- Develop resource plans and competency pathways to strengthen team expertise.
- Direct the preparation of Class 5 to Class 2 construction estimates aligned with AACE practices.
- Coordinate estimating inputs across engineering, project controls, scheduling, and supply chain.
- Integrate nuclear QA/QC requirements, labour productivity factors, and commodity pricing into estimates.
- Support project budgets, forecasting, change management, and construction sequencing validation.
- Present estimate results to leadership and clients and support proposal development.
About You
- Ability to apply advanced expertise gained through a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of construction estimating experience in nuclear, power, or industrial megaprojects.
- 10+ years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in construction estimating methods and commercial estimating software.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and 3D models with strong technical accuracy.
- Aptitude for leading multidisciplinary teams within complex project environments.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively while supporting large‑scale nuclear or industrial megaprojects.
