We are seeking a civil field auditor to be part of our team to inspect underground electrical utility assets installed for a Local Distribution Company. Your role will help to maintain the safety and reliability the electrical distribution systems of our clients for years to come.
Your role
- Chair Pre-Job meetings and attend on site pre-construction coordination meetings.
- On daily basis for projects assigned: you will complete a field audit and prepare daily site log with photos of all activities. Review JSA, sign on to tailboard, verify contractor's safe work practices are followed. Verify quality of construction i.e. built to standards and as per field drawings. Witness Critical tasks and maintain test records if required. Identify and report any hazardous conditions in the vicinity of the project sites. Verify Design-Build Contractors' compliance to City of Toronto requirements (MCR, TS 4.60, etc), THESL Standards, OHSA and other applicable Regulations and Guidelines (e.g. MTO Book 7, O.Reg. 213/91, etc.).
- Issue Safety Non-Conformance reports and Quality Non-Conformance reports, monitor Contractor's corrective and preventative actions for violations of safe work practices, procedures or regulatory requirements and quality deficiencies to construction standards- monitor Contractor's corrective actions.
- Verify work units for monthly progress billing and for project close out including validation of Change orders initiated by the contractors.
- Record and report on any public/customer complaints including customer trust violations and property damage.
- Perform final walk down to ensure scope of work completed and ready for intended service. Prepare deficiency report. Review and verify Contractor's Project Close-Out documentation and deliverables and participate in Project Close-out/Lessons Learned meeting as required.
About you
- Graduated from a Civil/Structural Post-Secondary Engineering or Technical program.
- Past Construction, Utilities and/or Inspection experience with the ability to interpret Design drawings and Standards would be an asset.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills using computers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision to complete deliverables on time.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons of the year and flexible on working hours with a class G driver's license and access to a working vehicle for field audits.

Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between $65,000 - $89,300 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
