We are recruiting for a Project Scheduling & Controls Specialist for our location in Peterborough, ON.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Project Scheduling & Controls Specialist will support the schedule creation, maintenance and update for new and ongoing projects which involves the design, development, and manufacture of equipment for use in nuclear facilities.
Essential Responsibilities:
GENERAL
- Develop and implement consistent methodologies for the following:
- Standardization of schedule creation, WBS, activity ID, nomenclature, etc.
- Schedule update methodology (gathering inputs from the team, inputting into P6 and updating).
- Monitoring of SPI and CPI.
- Collaborate with department team members to continuously improve our scheduling practices and resolve any technical snags.
- Maintain the resource dictionary within P6 including vacation schedules.
- Publish resource information to company management in an effort to assist with resource planning decisions.
INQUIRY TO ORDER PHASE
- During the ITO phase, work with the team to develop a suitable schedule (Level 1, 2 or 3 as applicable).
- Be accountable throughout the ITO phase to refine the schedule if required, and maintain data integrity including, but not limited to, forecast probability, start date, total estimated hours, etc.
ORDER TO REMITTANCE PHASE
- Lead the development of fully resourced schedules for all assigned projects/programs (working with the applicable Project Manager and Team Leaders).
- As applicable, monitor project health and performance indicators using earned value methodologies including CPI and SPI.
- Update all schedules on a biweekly frequency or according to the needs of each job.
- Assist Project Managers in identifying schedule risks, critical path monitoring, float management and schedule recovery.
- Ensure consistency of data between ERP system and P6 (budgeted, actual and remaining hours).
- Assist in financial analysis as requested.
- Upon job closure, perform the schedule archive process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent from an accredited university/college.
- Advanced skills in Primavera (P6), or equivalent, such as MS Project, with a minimum of 2 years of experience with the software.
- Advanced data analysis skills (MS Excel or Access).
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated ability to plan / schedule / manage mid to large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability in product or system design and project planning / execution, including development of processes / procedures and process improvements.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering design, team leadership, product design leadership, manufacturing team leadership, commercial operations, project coordination and / or project planning.
- Experience in the nuclear industry is considered an asset but not required.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,000.00 and $121,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
